August 7th ZPD Committee Meeting Cancelled

Due to the lack of new zoning and Historic Preservation Review Board applications with deadlines before ANC 2B’s regular September meeting, the ANC’s Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee has cancelled its August meeting, which was previously scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th.

REMINDER: ANC 2B’s July 16th ZPD Committee Meeting

As a reminder, ANC 2B will hold its second July Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee meeting on Tuesday, July 16th at 7:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Resource Center, 9 Dupont Circle NW. The agenda includes:

  • 2124 O Street NW – Application for a variance from the floor area ratio requirements to construct a third-story addition to an existing, attached principal dwelling unit (BZA #20096) (2B06)
  • 1841 R Street NW – Concept / window replacement, wood to aluminum cladding (HPRB #19-399) (2B03)
  • 1145 17th Street NW – Landmark application for the National Geographic Society Headquarters (HPRB #TBD) (2B05)
  • 1145 17th Street NW – Concept / new entrance pavilion addition, renovation of ground floor public space (and 1600 M Street NW) (HPRB #19-460) (2B05)
  • 1748 Swann Street NW – Concept / interior renovation and rear elevation alterations (HPRB #19-444) (2B01)

The above applications will then be considered during a special July ANC meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Community Commons on the first floor of Foundry United Methodist Church, 1500 16th Street NW. The agenda for the special July ANC meeting will be publicized later today.

Meeting Notices for ANC 2B’s Regular and Special July ZPD and ANC Meetings

In order to accommodate the nine development applications that ANC 2B has received for July, a much greater amount than usual, and to provide ample time for community feedback, the ANC will hold two Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee meetings and two ANC meetings in July.

The first ZPD Committee meeting will take place as normally scheduled on Wednesday, July 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Resource Center, 9 Dupont Circle NW. The agenda includes:

  • 1515 Rhode Island Avenue NW – Application by NW DC Property LLC for area variances from the accessory use requirements, the lot occupancy requirements, and the rear yard requirements to enclose outdoor courtyard space and to construct a new, attached accessory structure to an existing hotel building (BZA #20085) (2B05)
  • 11 Dupont Circle NW – Concept / New Hampshire Avenue NW façade and public space modifications, courtyard and entry alterations (HPRB #19-411) (2B07)
  • 1637-1641 R Street NW – Concept / fill in dogleg court and construct habitable penthouse (HPRB #19-454) (2B04)
  • 1620 Riggs Place NW – Concept / new garage with rooftop patio (HPRB #19-383) (2B04)

The above applications will then be considered during the ANC’s previously-scheduled regular July meeting on Wednesday, July 10th at 7:00 pm at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), 1717 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Room 500.

The second ZPD Committee will then take place on Tuesday, July 16th at 7:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Resource Center, 9 Dupont Circle NW. The agenda includes:

June 5th ZPD Committee Meeting Agenda

ANC 2B will hold our monthly Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 5th at 7:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Resource Center, 9 Dupont Circle NW.

The committee will review the following historic preservation and zoning applications:

  • 1637-1641 R Street NW – Application by Raycon Inc. for special exception from the minimum open court requirements and from the lot occupancy requirements to construct a rear addition to the second through fourth stories, and a rooftop penthouse to an existing four-story mixed use commercial building at 1637-1641 R Street NW (BZA #20042) (2B04)
  • 1738 Church Street NW – Concept / detached garage, roof deck, and hyphen connection (HPRB #19-384) (2B07)
  • 1521 Corcoran Street NW – Concept / new partial third floor, new addition, new windows (HPRB #19-395) (2B04)
  • 1620 Riggs Place NW – Concept / new garage with rooftop patio (HPRB #19-383) (2B04)

Updated May 1st ZPD Committee Meeting Notice

ANC 2B has updated the agenda for the ANC’s May Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall on the second floor of Foundry United Methodist Church, 1500 16th Street NW.

The committee will review the following historic preservation applications:

  • 1229 19th Street NW – Concept / addition, second floor on detached garage (HPRB #19-310) (2B07)
  • 1733 16th Street NW, Scottish Rite Temple – Historic landmark amendment (boundary expansion) (HPRB #19-05) (2B04)
  • 1733 16th Street NW, Scottish Rite Temple – Concept / four-story plus penthouse new apartment building (HPRB #18-668) (2B04)

Please note that the full ANC will then review the recommendations of the ZPD Committee regarding the two applications for 1733 16th Street NW during a special May meeting on Thursday, May 16th at 7:00 pm. The ANC is in the process of finalizing the location for the May 16th meeting and will publicize the location once it is finalized. The recommendations regarding the application for 1229 19th Street NW will be reviewed by the full ANC during the ANC’s regular May meeting on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00 pm at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, 1717 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Room 500.
