Kent Boese and Kathy Williams (both of OANC), discussed with Commissioners Meg Roggensack, Jeff Rueckgauer, Vincent Slatt, China Dickerson, Matt Johnson, Patricia Bencivenga, Zach Adams, and Christopher Davis, as well as ANC 2B Executive Director Peter Sacco. Explanations were given concerning three types of meetings: public, administrative, and personnel.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Public meetings<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> are when the commission makes decisions on matters before it; these are open to the public and although by law public comments on matters are not required to be heard, they are required by the ANC 2B bylaws. <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Administrative meetings<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> concern the operations and business affairs of the commission; these are to be held in public and there are no requirements to take comment from the public. <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Personnel meetings<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> concern employees of the commission and are held in private. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ITEMS OF INTEREST<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">FY 2024 Budget Cuts Would Decimate DC Circulator<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">On March 22, Mayor Bowser presented her budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2024. Dubbed \u201cThe Comeback Budget\u201d there are several items that have raised questions and concerns among many residents, advocates, and ANCs. One item with a considerable, and negative, impact on Dupont Circle residents is the elimination of three DC Circulator bus routes, including the Dupont-Georgetown-Rosslyn route. Not only would this popular and useful transit resource be discontinued, so would the long-anticipated extension to U Street NW, Le Droit Park, and Howard University. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">ANC 2B has long supported the extension, which would provide a convenient one-seat ride between Dupont and the U Street NW corridor in addition to Georgetown. This can boost businesses along the full route. It also provides an equitable transportation option for the many residents along the corridor who would no longer have to rely on costly taxis and ride shares. It could also result in a substantial reduction of the number of personal vehicles that clog U Street NW, contributing to our climate goals and the success of the District Department of Transportation&#8217;s (DDOT) forthcoming bus priority projects on U Street NW and Florida Avenue NW.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Department of Public Works<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> (DPW)<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Street sweeping began on March 1 and continues through October 31. Vehicles in violation of the posted parking restrictions will be subject to a $45 fine and a possible $100 relocation fee.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">DPW will begin alley cleaning service in April. DPW will clean District alleys every six weeks between April and October. If residents observe an alley that needs attention before April, please place a 311-service request for sanitation enforcement.
