Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2B has joined three other protestants to enter into a settlement agreement with the Safeway at 1701 Corcoran Street NW regarding their application to sell beer and wine on premises.
Once signed by the parties, the settlement agreement was sent to to the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) for the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board’s approval. As settlement agreements become part of an establishment’s license and are enforced by ABRA, the agency reviews all agreements to ensure compliance with all District laws and regulations and that they are clear and enforceable.
As the agreement now stands, it contains provisions that limit the linear footage to be dedicated to beer and wine and the hours of sale of beer and wine, as well as restricts single-sales and manages the arrangement of checkout lines within the store.
Once the details of the document are approved by the ABC Board, the settlement agreement will be published, like all agreements signed by the ANC, on the ANC 2B website.
