We will continue to have public comment on each agenda item. There is no fee or account needed to use Zoom.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
-
Discussion of Outstanding ANC 2B Street Safety Issues: Input from commissioners and the public is sought about outstanding pedestrian/cyclist/traffic safety issues for the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), including missing/inadequate signs, signals needing adjustment, speeding, thru trucks and buses, and disregarding posted weight limits. (30 minutes)
-
Discussion of Restoration of Dupont Circle/Elimination of Inner (Massachusetts Avenue NW) Lanes: Most of the circle’s safety issues stem from conflicts imposed by the junctions of the inner and outer traffic lanes. DDOT had plans around 2005 to restore Dupont by removing the inner lanes as it had Logan and Thomas Circles. Work was supposed to have started after the P Street Streetscape project in 2007-2008. The project did not proceed, no explanation was provided, and no further mention was made. DDOT now says they have no record or trace of the studies or plans. We are seeking public input to initiate a new request to DDOT that they conduct a new study and present a restoration plan for further discussion. (30 minutes)
