February 5th ZPD Committee Meeting Cancelled

ANC 2B will not hold a Zoning, Preservation, and Development (ZPD) Committee meeting on February 5th, 2020. The cases which involve zoning and historic preservation elements for the regular February ANC meeting, which are listed below, are minimal in nature and the Chair of ZPD and the single member district commissioner for each of the projects have agreed it is not necessary for these projects to go through committee review.

The cases are a minor modification of the plans that the ANC supported for the renovation of the Embassy of Australia at 1601 Massachusetts Avenue NW, a two-year extension of the plans that the ANC supported and the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) approved at the Rouge Hotel at 1315 16th Street NW, and a historic landmarking application of the Tabard Inn at 1737-1741 N Street NW by the owner of the Tabard Inn.

As the Chair of ZPD and the single member district commissioner do not expect these cases will require more than 15 to 20 minutes of discussion each, these cases will be heard by the ANC during the ANC’s regular February meeting Wednesday, February 12th without going through a ZPD meeting.

The information for each case is below:

  • 1601 Massachusetts Avenue NW – Application for a modification of consequence to the plans approved by BZA Order No. 19557 to refine several components of the architectural elements and open spaces of the Australian embassy building (BZA #19557A) (2B05) – More information regarding the project can be found here.
