SECOND REMINDER: ANC 2B to Hold a Special Public Meeting on DDOT’s Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deck-Over Project

On Monday, January 30th from 7-8 PM at The Dupont Circle Hotel (Glover Park Room) at 1500 New Hampshire Avenue NW, ANC 2B, together with Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets and the Dupont Circle Business Improvement District (BID), will host a meeting with representatives of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to discuss the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deck-Over Project, which will begin construction in August or September of this year and run for 27 months.

The purpose of the meeting is two-fold: to ensure all affected stakeholders – landlords and commercial businesses – and their employees, suppliers, service providers, and customers, as well as residents and guests, are fully aware of the project and timetable; and to enable all stakeholders to identify and discuss concerns about potential construction impacts, to inform DDOT’s construction staging and management.

For ongoing comments on the project use this link: https://ctavestreetscape.wordpress.com/contact/ or email: CTAveStreetscape@gmail.com. Note that the BID will be working closely with DDOT in both the pre-planning and construction stages, and will be managing the deck-over once completed.

The construction marks the last phase in what has been a decades-long effort by community stakeholders. Further information about the deck-over project and history can be found here.

Among issues prioritized by stakeholders for discussion are construction staging and management; access to offices and businesses during construction – and associated pedestrian safety on sidewalks and at adjacent intersections; and management of traffic and transit in the construction zone, including necessary services and deliveries.

The meeting will also be held via Zoom and can be accessed at the following link: https://bit.ly/ANC2BSpecialJanuary2023. If you do not have a computer or access to the internet, you may join the meeting via phone at (301) 715-8592 or (646) 558-8656 with meeting ID 831 5203 4752 #.
