ANC 2B Announces Town Hall on Homelessness

Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2B has announced that the commission will hold a town hall to discuss the issue of homelessness. The ANC has received numerous requests from constituents to have a discussion on this topic and believes this one-stop shop will provide residents with facts they may not know, an understanding of the legal rights of the homeless, and valuable information on what residents can do to help the homeless and assist local service providers.

The town hall will take place on Tuesday, February 6th at 7:00 pm at the Keegan Theater, 1742 Church Street NW. There will be an open house with representatives from several service providers who serve the homeless  at 7:00 pm and the town hall will begin at 7:30 pm.

During the town hall, service providers and other community organizations will provide an overview of the current unhoused population, respond to questions from the audience, and provide resources to help address this issue in concrete and tangible ways.

Community members are asked to submit their top three questions for the experts .

7:00 pm – 7:30 pm: Open House with Service Providers
7:30 pm – 8:15 pm: Moderated Discussion
8:15 pm – 8:30 pm: Q&A from the Floor
8:30 pm – 8:45 pm: Wrap-Up

January 17th TPI Committee Meeting Agenda

ANC 2B will be hold its January Transportation and Public Infrastructure (TPI) Committee meeting on Wednesday, January 17th at 7:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Resource Center, 9 Dupont Circle NW.

This first meeting of 2018 for the TPI Committee will be focused on the review of the 2017 accomplishments and the development of specific goals and objectives that the committee would like to work on over the 2018 term.

The agenda includes:

  • Review of the 2017 TPI Committee accomplishments
  • Establishment of 2018 goals and objectives

The meeting will be on Wednesday, January 10th at 7:00 pm. Please note that the meeting will take place at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, 1740 Massachusetts Avenue NW. This location will serve as the new meeting location for the ANC’s 2018 meetings.

Due to a recent policy change by the School of Advanced International Studies, all meeting attendees will be required to show photo ID in order to enter the school building.
