ANCs 2A, 2B, 2E, and 2F Launch Website for Upcoming Dockless Bikeshare Town Hall

ANCs 2A, 2B, 2E, and 2F are pleased to announce that they have launched a new website for the upcoming town hall on the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) dockless bikeshare demonstration program. The new website can be found at: http://www.DocklessBikeshareTownHall.com.

The new website includes logistical information for the town hall, including a program agenda, and information on DDOT’s demonstration program, including responses from a pre-town hall survey that was sent to each of the five dockless bikeshare companies operating in DC (Mobike, LimeBike, Jump, Spin, and ofo).

For those who will not be able to attend the town hall or those that would like to note their comments or questions in writing, the website also includes a feedback form. The ANCs encourage community members to use the feedback form to note comments or questions they have regarding DDOT’s demonstration program. Results from the feedback form will be compiled and shared with DDOT and the commissioners on ANCs 2A, 2B, 2E, and 2F (Note: identifying information will not be shared).

As a reminder, the town hall will take place on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00 pm at the School Without Walls at Francis-Stevens, 2425 N Street NW. There will be an open house with representatives from the five bikeshare companies at 7:00 pm and the town hall will begin at 7:30 pm.

If you have any questions regarding the website or the town hall, please contact Town Hall Co-Chairs William Kennedy Smith (2A04@anc.dc.gov) and Joe Gibbons (2E02@anc.dc.gov), or ANC 2B Executive Director Peter Sacco (2B@anc.dc.gov).

ANCs 2A, 2B, 2E, and 2F Announce Joint Town Hall on DDOT’s Dockless Bikeshare Program

Advisory Neighborhood Commissions 2A, 2B, 2E, and 2F have announced that they will hold a joint town hall to discuss the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) current dockless bikeshare demonstration program. The four ANCs, which collectively cover the Foggy Bottom, West End, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Burleith, Hillandale, and Logan Circle neighborhoods, have received many requests to have a more in-depth discussion with DDOT about the program and thus believe that this town hall will provide an ideal opportunity to do so.

The town hall will take place on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00 pm at the School Without Walls at Francis-Stevens, 2425 N Street NW. There will be an open house with representatives from the five bikeshare companies currently operating in DC (Mobike, LimeBike, Jump, Spin, and ofo) at 7:00 pm and the town hall will begin at 7:30 pm.

The School Without Walls at Francis-Stevens is located a short walk from the Foggy Bottom–GWU station on Metrorail’s blue, orange, and silver lines and from the Dupont Circle station on the red line, as well as a short walk from multiple major Metrobus and DC Circulator routes.

During the town hall, DDOT representatives will be give a presentation regarding the current operations of the demonstration program and any results that the agency has collected thus far. Ample time will be given for community members to ask questions and make comments regarding the program.

More information regarding the demonstration program can be found here. A promotional flyer for the town hall can be found here.

If you have any questions about this town hall, please contact ANC 2B Chair Nicole Mann at: 2B08@anc.dc.gov, or ANC 2B Executive Director Peter Sacco at: 2B@anc.dc.gov.

We look forward to your attendance at the town hall!

Final ANC 2B Agenda for Wednesday, October 11th and Special Election Update

Hello neighbors,

The final agenda for this evening’s ANC 2B regular October meeting has been posted on the ANC’s website and can be found here. As a reminder, the meeting will be on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:00 pm at the Brookings Institution, 1775 Massachusetts Avenue NW.

I would like to provide several documents that are listed in the agenda. They are as follows:

  • The list of alcoholic beverage license renewal applications that the commission will consider at this evening’s meeting can be found here.
  • The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s proposed rulemaking on changes to the DC Municipal Regulations can be found here.
  • The District Department of Transportation’s plan to improve safety at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue & R Street NW and the intersection of Connecticut Avenue & Florida Avenue NW can be found here.

I would also like to provide an update regarding the special election for the vacancy of single member district 2B07. Yesterday, Sean Treanor, one of two candidates for the special election, officially withdrew his candidacy for the single member district 2B07 vacancy. Given the fact that Kari Cunningham, the second candidate for the special election, was the only candidate remaining, the DC Board of Elections certified Kari as the new 2B07 commissioner. As a result, the Board of Elections also cancelled this evening’s special election. There will thus be no voting during this evening’s ANC meeting.

Kari was sworn-in by Councilmember Jack Evans earlier today. This evening’s ANC meeting will be her first official meeting as the new 2B07 commissioner. The commission looks forward to welcoming her this evening.

Please let your single member district commissioner or I know if you have any questions about the meeting agenda. We look forward to seeing you this evening!

Sincerely,

Peter Sacco
Executive Director
Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2B
